Louisville Metro was awarded the 2010 Special Merit Award for OUTSTANDING PLAN for the recently completed River Road Scenic Byway Corridor Management Plan. The award was presented by the American Planning Association, Kentucky Chapter (APA KY). The project team was headed by Gresham Smith & Partners of Louisville, Kentucky. Team members included Jones and Jones Architects and Landscape Architects, LTD of Seattle, Washington and Environs Inc. of Louisville, Kentucky. CIA was responsible for the portion of the plan dealing with cultural resources along the corridor, located along the Ohio River in northern Jefferson County, Kentucky.

Corn Island Archaeology is now nationally certified as a Woman Owned Business WBE through WBENC, the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council. CIA remains a certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) through the Kentucky Department of Transportation. Copies of these certifications are available upon request.
