			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Corn Island Archaeology LLC is a small, woman-owned and operated business enterprise located in Louisville, Kentucky. Corn Island Archaeology (CIA) serves a region defined by the drainage basin of the Ohio River. Primarily focused in Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio, we readily support clients within the adjacent states of Tennessee, Illinois, and elsewhere in the eastern and midwestern US.</p>
<p>With years of hands-on practical experience in both private and public practice, our key staff is knowledgeable of the local and regional resource base as well as the down-to-earth business of cultural resources management. In providing the best possible service to our clients, we employ a common-sense approach to achieve a balance between the real-world requirements for development and expansion of communities, industry, and the military and the responsible management of significant archaeological resources.</p>
<p>CIA is fully qualified in all aspects of prehistoric and historic archaeology in accordance with professional standards and guidelines of the Secretary of the Interior. We are listed on the approved consultants lists of multiple State Historic Preservation Offices (SHPOs). CIA is a member of ACRA, (American Cultural Resources Association). Our archaeologists are members of the Register of Professional Archaeologists (RPA) and we adhere to their code of ethics at all times.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>William has 16 years of experience in archaeology and cultural resources management. He has served as Field Director, Field Supervisor, and Field Technician for a full range of archaeological investigations from small Phase I surveys to complex Phase III data recovery projects. Mr. Hill has experience in both Prehistoric and Historic North American Archaeology. He has authored and co-authored numerous reports and presented several papers at professional conferences regarding Cultural Resources Management and Archaeology. </p>
<p>William received his BA in Anthropology from Eastern Kentucky University in 1994 and his MA in Anthropology from Western Michigan University in 2004.  He is currently a Doctoral Student in Anthropology at Binghamton University (SUNY).</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Louisville Metro was awarded the 2010 Special Merit Award for <em>OUTSTANDING PLAN</em> for the recently completed <em>River Road Scenic Byway Corridor Management Plan</em>.  The award was presented by the American Planning Association, Kentucky Chapter (APA KY).  The project team was headed by Gresham Smith &#038; Partners of Louisville, Kentucky.  Team members included Jones and Jones Architects and Landscape Architects, LTD of Seattle, Washington and Environs Inc. of Louisville, Kentucky. CIA was responsible for the portion of the plan dealing with cultural resources along the corridor, located along the Ohio River in northern Jefferson County, Kentucky.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>CIA welcomes Anna Maas who has lately joined our staff as architectural historian and preservation planner.  With the arrival of Anna, CIA now has the in-house capability to conduct structures inventory and evaluation, viewshed analyses, National Register nominations, and more.  In addition, we can more fully participate in Master Planning, Preservation Planning, and other studies including NEPA documentation.  </p>
<p>Because of Anna&#8217;s expertise, CIA has recently become prequalified with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to conduct culture-historic analyses for statewide projects. </p>
